PSHE

At Benedict House Preparatory School, PSHE is taught through the Jigsaw Programme, a whole school, progressive curriculum that supports children’s personal, social, emotional and health development. Each week, pupils take part in carefully structured lessons that combine mindfulness, discussion and practical activities, enabling them to explore themes such as relationships, health and wellbeing, living in the wider world and personal responsibility.

This consistent approach ensures clear progression across year groups while allowing teachers to respond thoughtfully to the needs of their classes. PSHE plays a vital role in nurturing the positive, respectful and inclusive culture of our school community.

It reinforces our core values of resilience, respect, integrity, teamwork and empathy by helping pupils develop self awareness, value others and understand their responsibilities within society. Through PSHE, we aim to equip children with strong emotional literacy, confidence and the skills needed to make informed choices, build healthy relationships and contribute positively both within school and beyond.
