Science

At Benedict House Preparatory School, our science curriculum is designed to nurture children’s natural curiosity and deepen their understanding of the world around them. Lessons are practical, hands on and exploratory, encouraging pupils to ask questions, investigate ideas and develop essential scientific skills such as observing, predicting and recording findings.

Teaching across biology, chemistry and physics is carefully structured to be accessible and engaging, with learning brought to life through experiments, outdoor learning opportunities, cross curricular links and extra curricular clubs. A strong emphasis is placed on developing scientific vocabulary and reasoning, enabling pupils to explain their thinking with confidence. Our well resourced STEAM lab further enhances science teaching and learning, providing an inspiring environment in which children can explore, experiment and deepen their understanding as they prepare for the next stage of their education.
